Meg Maggio is owner/director of Pékin Fine Arts, a Beijing-based contemporary art gallery established in 2005. Ms. Maggio acts as advisor to leading museums, corporate and private collectors on collecting and exhibiting Chinese and Asian contemporary and traditional fine arts. Pékin Fine Arts, opened its new art gallery space in the Cao Changdi Village area of Beijing in May 2007, in an exciting new artists’ district, in an 800 + square meter newly constructed building designed by Beijing-based architect/artist, Ai Weiwei. In 2012, Pékin Fine Arts will open a branch in Hong Kong’s Wong Chuk Hang. Ms. Maggio, (b. 1960) from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, has lived and worked in China since 1986; first in Hong Kong as a summer law student, and following graduation from law school, in Beijing (1986-1990), Hong Kong and Shanghai (1990 – 1995), returning to reside in Beijing, since 1995. She is a fluent Mandarin speaker and 25+ year resident of China. Ms. Maggio has curated various contemporary art exhibitions including “Ink City”: New Video Installation works by Chen Shaoxiong; “Focus: New Works by Lin Tianmiao”; “New Works by Liu Wei”; and, “New Photography from China”.
