Dr. Katie Hill has fifteen years of experience in the field of contemporary Chinese art. Having graduated with a degree in Chinese language and literature from the University of Edinburgh, she subsequently gained a PhD in art history from the University of Sussex specializing in contemporary Chinese art. Since then, she has lectured extensively on the subject and worked closely with a number of contemporary artists from China as a writer and curator. She recently conducted the conversation with the prominent Chinese artist Ai Weiwei at Tate Modern (October 2010) during his Unilever commission 'Sunflower Seeds' and she is currently co-editing a special issue of the journal Visual Art Practice on Contemporary Chinese Art and Criticality, to be published in 2012.
