Dutch Days in Wuhan

2014 Will be a very special year for the relationship between The Netherlands and Wuhan. After the success of the Dutch Days in Shanghai, a new tradition is born. Wuhan is now the second city where the Dutch Days are being held, providing various cultural activities throughout the whole city.

Design Academy Eindhoven presents at OCT LOFT Creative Arts Festival

Twelve Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) alumni are presenting their graduation projects in Shenzhen, China, as part of the OCT LOFT Creative Arts Festival. Curators Thomas Widdershoven and Jan Konings created the exhibition with the theme Self Unself, the same thread that ran through the Graduation Show and the show at the Van Abbe Museum. This Design Academy Eindhoven exhibition runs from December 2013 until the beginning of March 2014.

Marcel Wanders exhibition in Beijing's Capital Museum

The recently re-opened Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is the leading modern and contemporary art and design museum in The Netherlands which today boasts a spectacular extension by Benthem Crouwel Architects. In 2014 the Stedelijk museum will present a large retrospective of Amsterdam-based designer Marcel Wanders, who is the figurehead for Amsterdam Guest City at Beijing Design Week 2013, a preview of which can be viewed at Beijing’s Capital Museum.

Design goes Dutch - Amsterdam at BJDW 2013

Guest City of Amsterdam will be snatching attention and provoking some thought at this year’s Beijing Design Week through their “Design goes Dutch” multi-platform list of events. Amsterdam will be housed for the duration of Beijing Design Week at The Tank @751 while other leading Dutch design exhibits will also be on view at the Capital Museum, Dashilar, Beijing Temple of Confucius & Imperial College Museum and the China Museum of Digital Arts from Thursday, 26 September till Thursday, 3 October.

The Dutch Design Post (DDP) is a platform to promote Dutch design on the international stage. Now that mass production has shifted to Taiwanese factories in China, Taiwan is concentrating on innovation and high-quality production. This relatively small island with a high concentration of business enterprises presents opportunities for Dutch designers.

Dutch artists at the 2nd Haikou International Youth Experimental Arts Festival

The 2nd Haikou International Youth Experimental Arts Festival (HIYEAF) will be held from 19 Sep to 5 Oct, 2014. With support from the Royal Dutch Embassy in China and the Consulate General in Guangzhou, a variety of Dutch artists including designer Neville Mars, visual artist Suzanne Somer, photographer Ruben Lundgren, choreographer/Dancer Kevin Polak, Batik band will present their extraordinary works in Hainan Province's capital city Haikou, as well as screenings of Dutch films.
